This battery does work in my Z61p laptop but there’s two things that irk me. One, and this is not related to the actual battery, the Lenovo Power Manager Guage utility pops up all the time telling me this is not a Lenovo battery. Can’t blame the battery for that, but it’s a pain – no way to disable the message from the Lenovo utility unless you remove the Lenovo utility. The other thing that irks me is that I have a docking station and when the laptop is removed, then reattached to the dock, the battery does not charge. The laptop draws power directly from the AC adapter. The only way to get the battery to charge is to reboot the laptop or to remove the battery when attached to the AC adapter – and that isn’t something you can do when using the dock!
For the small price (compared to an orginal Lenovo battery) this is a good battery that lets you run your laptop – as it should.
