Acer Computer LU.S360B.062 Aspire One Netbook/golden Brwn

I like this Acer netbook in every way. I got it refurbished at a decent price, but was pleasantly surprised at the like-new condition it came in. DO NOT expect this or ANY NETBOOK to perform as well as a regular laptop. It’s not meant to be used that way. But for e-mail, chat, other social networking, or even streaming video, it performs well hands-down, even over my older (5 yr old) laptop. But if you want to multi-task and run office applications, you’re better off with a regular-size notebook with a decent Intel Pentium, duo Core, or any non-Celeron processor and 2GB memory.

It took me over two months to decide between a regular laptop and a netbook, because I had to decide between performance and portability. But in my case, portability won out, and I’m glad it did. I already have a decent desktop PC at home and when some member of my family is on it, it’s so nice to just pull this out and fire it up. It does boot up quickly for me, and I would recommend getting a netbook with a large hard drive, at last 40GB (but recommend 120-160GB or more) that can run a Microsoft OS (XP or now Windows 7), not just a tiny one with 8-16GB capacity.

I stil gave it five stars, but my only gripe, if any, is that it IS kinda small and the takes getting used to, as I almost lost how I can type on a full sized keyboard after using this one, but not a really big deal, as I mentioned earlier I wanted portability. But I understand why they don’t sell netbooks anymore with less than 10 inch screens these days. The 10-in. size and keyboard is perfect for a portable netbook, but for the price I got mine, I’m happy with the 8.9 inch screen, which BTW, can be expanded as far as the viewing size is concerned with the touchpad.

In this case, I thought the dark copper color was quite handsome and unique as well, compared to the usual black or blue models, but I may get a skin for it as well.
