I bought this battery as a spare for my Asus UL30VT-A1 that I bought last month from another vendor. The battery is identical to the originally installed battery. With either of the batteries installed, I regularly get over 8 hours of use while using the web browser – which often includes some video content. At some point I should probably time actual use to get a more exact figure, but I haven’t made that a priority. Therefore, I cannot confirm the manufacturer’s claim of 12 hours.

I ordered this and received a correctly labeled box, 5600mAH for UL30, UL50, UL80. Inside the box was a different battery for a UL20, not usable in the larger notebooks. I returned for a replacement and got an identical incorrect battery. Don’t waste your time on this.

I purchased this battery because I wanted to increase the battery life of my Asus UL30A-x5 which came with a 4400mAh battery instead of the 5600mAh battery I wanted. Lo and behold, the larger size battery shows up, and *brand new* is already down to 92.9% of full capacity (78.1 Wh instead of the advertised 84 Wh).
I spent an extra $125 to get the biggest battery possible, and instead I get some either old and no longer to spec, or repackaged used unit. The original battery that came with the computer was at 100% capacity, why does this one show wear?
Don’t purchase this expecting it to be a new battery still at the rated capacity.

I purchased this as a second batter from my ASUS UL30A-X5 laptop. It fits perfectly, of course, since it’s OEM, and it gives me longer battery life than the original 6-cell battery that came with the computer. I can use the computer most of the day without having to plug it in, and I like having a second battery for long airplane flights.
