As far as I can tell, this monitor doesn’t support 1920 x 1200 resolution. It arrived in pristine condition, with no dead pixels and was easy to hook up. However, I have not been able to get it to work in its alleged native resolution of 1920×1200. When I first installed it, the drivers for an old nVidia Geforce FX 5200 card wouldn’t support anything more than 1280×1024. I found newer drivers which support 1920×1200 (and higher) resolutions and I installed them with no trouble.
I’ve tried using the Windows XP Display control panel to change the resolution. The monitor remained stuck at 1280×1024 and you get the standard “virtual” resolution behavior where the display pans up/down/left/right when you move the cursor to the edge of the display. I tried using the nVidia control panel to change the resolution and got the same result. Note that the nVidia control panel reports the native resolution as 1920×1200, but can’t seem to force it into that mode.
The OSD (On-Screen Display) menu buttons on the front of the monitor always report the resolution as 1280×1024.
This may be a problem with my setup, with a defective monitor or something else. I have a technical request into Asus, but their website sucks and they are known for poor technical support. Thus, until this problem is resolved, I can NOT recommend this monitor.

Put a piece of tracing paper over your existing monitor. This is what you get with this monitor. If you would fly in the baggage compartment for half price, this is the monitor for you. This is the worst quality monitor I have ever laid eyes on. It is offensively bad quality. People always ask, “But did you adjust it?” I spent two hours fiddling with it. Trust me, no amount of adjusting is going to turn this frog into a prince. I think the vast majority of positive reviews are because they’re excited to pay about $300 for a 25.5 inch monitor. Yes, it will display something when you plug it in, but if you care what it looks like, you won’t be happy.

I have been unable to access their web site and unable to registrer my product on their service. There is no phone number or E mail address that I could locate. May be their server is down.
I thought I was buying a product with mic and cam, it turns out that Amazon is quite confusing in this regard.
Monitor does work well though.
I am shocked bty the fact that such reputable company does not have an e mail address to report problems to. I am essentially sitting without warrenty registration.

Finally managed to register for VIP service by searching something on google as their web site for USA showed some strange letters. At one point the “send or Submit button was written in Chinese or Japanese letter. There is no phone number. Their “live” web service could not be reached either by Safari or IE. “diagnose connection problems” came up.
I woul dhate to have to deal with these people considering their web site is so bad.

GOT THIS FOR OUR CHILDREN TO PLAY THE WII ON AND IT WORKS GREAT, THE WII PLUGS DIRECTLY INTO IT IF YOU BUY THE PROPER CORD. PERFECTLY CLEAR PICTURE AND EASY TO OPERATE.

I purchased this to use for basic office work (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) and have been very pleased with it. Text is very sharp and there is no glare whatsoever from the screen (a big issue with me). But, as with all TN panels, it is not a good choice if you plan on doing photo editing work – there is an appreciable color shift based on the viewing angle, and the gray scale levels are no where near as sharp as you would want them to be.
For the price, this is the best large monitor you’ll find for text work. If you’re a Photoshop worker, you’ll want to dig a bit deeper in your pocket and look elsewhere for a better performing panel.
I can’t comment on how it looks for gaming and movie watching since I don’t do those applications on the PC this is hooked to.
Setup is very straightforward, and there are ample connections (DVI, VGA, HDMI). The speakers are very good for the type of audio you’d use in an office (e.g., typical Window sounds and the occasional YouTube-type video).
There are some things you give up at this price point. There are very few adjustments – only tilt. If you want the monitor to sit higher, you need to fashion a stand. I cut a piece of 1.5 inch wood in the same size as the stand and have it sitting on that to raise it up a wee bit. It also does not swivel left/right nor can you pivot it to portrait mode. The stand seems sturdy enough for a monitor of this size/weight.
The controls take a bit of time to get the hang of – menu navigation is less than intuitive. But, once you figure it out it’s easy to switch between the pre-set modes, adjust the contrast, color temp, etc. Again, the level of control/tweaking is basic in keeping with the basic nature of this monitor.
If you’re looking for a cheap, large monitor that performs very well for office applications, this absolutly must be on your short list. If you can get it with a rebate, even better!
