How do i get internet on my Acer laptop?

I am so confused to how i get internet on my Acer laptop. I want to be able to take it around with me and get wifi on it without having to search for it. I want garunteed wireless internet connection where ever i take it in my home, with out any cables plugged into a wall, if possible. What do i have...
