I had been looking into getting a 10″ netbook from HP and was told by our distributor to wait until after CES because HP was releasing new specs on all of their netbooks. Well needless to say I was unimpressed. I decided to step up to an 11″ and let me tell you it was the best decision ever. This notebook has all the preformance of a full sized notebook and the portability of a netbook. With 4Gb of RAM it runs all of my applications as well as could be expected. Amazon’s website had listed this as having an B/G/N wireless radio but have fixed it to show only B/G which is what it indeed has. If you look at the specs for this notebook on Dell you would be led to believe that it has an internal bluetooth radio. This is not true however and I had to get one off of Ebay and install it. Don’t bother calling Dell for this part if you want/need it. They were unsuccessful in finding the correct part number for the correct bluetooth radio. I will say that the documentation on their site for this model is exceptional and using it I was able to install the module in about 30 minutes. The battery typically lasts between 4 and 4 1/2 hours on a charge which isn’t too bad. Another nice thing is that the Function Keys are reversed so if you want to adjust the screen brightness or access the media control buttons you do not have to press the “Fn” key in addition to the task key.
Overall I am completely happy with this notebook and would recommend it to anyone who wants an netbook size computer without making all of the performance sacrifices that come with the 10″ models.
Pros:
4Gb RAM
Size
Screen Quality
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Cons:
No internal bluetooth
Glossy fingerprint magnet cover

Bought as an XMas present for my 19 year old daughter in college, to replace her 3-year old Toshiba satellite (her main PC is a large Dell with more memory and speed than anything I use…) The new Dell laptop ( more like a netbook) received all file transfers from her old Toshiba, which was promptly put in storage under her bed at home and never used again. She reports zero problems with the new Dell netbook and likes its smaller size. Her beta test of Windows 7 Premium (she is an XP and Vistas user) was no problems at all. Recommend this unit for price and capabilities.

Dell built a real winner. Performs perfect! A perfect balance of components. Just the right amount of speed and fabulous battery life. I’ve been shopping for Dell for a couple months now. Amazon sealed the deal with this incredible price. I love Amazon, and kudos to Dell. I showed my employer this laptop last night and he bought one immediately. I may pick up another one for my Mother.

I was looking for a travel computer to fit into a backpack for airplane carry-on. I never felt comfortable taking the 15″ laptop. This fits the bill perfectly. This unit is nice! High def screen is impressive. Typing is relatively easy on smaller keyboard. The trackboard actually has some nice features that make a travel mouse unnecessary for the short term. The black glossy cover does make it seem as if you just got home from your job at the vaseline factory but I get the same sensation when I look at the ear end of my cell phone. Where did that come from? There are other reviews here that eloquently describe the technical features that elevate this computer above most netbooks. Read now and believe now. This is a gem. Good things do come in small packages! Kudos to Amazon, this cost much less than on the Dell site.

Not even in Dell web site I would get a so good purchasing.
I’m completely satisfied with my new note/net-book, cause is more than I expected to and Amazon.com was very quickly and prestative.
