Hi, I currently have NTL broadband and want to go wireless. I have a Fujitsu Siemans laptop, a Linksys WRT54GS-UK 125 Mbps Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster and dont have a desktop PC. I was just wondering (as i have been reading through set up instructions for the wireless router) if you need to connect the wireless router to a desktop PC before it will allow me to connect wirelessly with my laptop?

No, you don’t need to connect the router to you desktop PC.
Just plug in the internet cable to your modem router.
You might need the USB wireless adapter if your laptop do not have the build-in adapter.

does your laptop have an RJ-45 ethernet port on it?
just plug it in until the wireless is setup. then switch…
no ethernet port? hmmm use a pcmcia card or get a port replicator or a docking station for your laptop.

Items needed for this connection:
A wireless modem & wireless network card installed into your laptop.
The wireless router is a moot point. It should be a wired router to you wireless modem.
