This will come in handy if I lose my original cord or if a visiting family member forgets their cord, but it is bulkier than I thought it would be.

I use this with my Dell Inspiron 640m. The retractable part is nice. Less tangling of all the various cords attached to my computer. I’ve never had a problem with the cord not working as it should. I would buy this again.

This is everything you need to make sure your notebook computer is powered up and ready to go. Instead of fussing with all of the cords for your notebook, the retractable cord makes things simple. It has nine interchangable tips to match almost any notebook.

Compatibility should not be a problem since the charger is supposed to be compatible with over 7,000 models and 10 major brands of computers.

I also found it very easy to work with when traveling. Having the cord be retractable kept my notebook computer bag much less cluttered with cords. With the other accessories I carry, I don’t need a clumsy notebook cord taking up too much room. It simply makes life easier for those of us who travel or use our notebooks often.

Highly recommended!

Be aware that while this is a notebook charger, it is not necessarily a netbook charger. The notebook charger also comes in a 90W version, whereas this is 70W. They seem to sell another version for netbooks that comes with a car charger. If it is universal, I don’t see why one unit can’t be made to charge most types of laptops. Regardless of which version you select, it is difficult to determine whether these chargers will work properly on your laptop. Sure, there is the list of models on the Amazon listing, but this information is somehow absent from the manufacturers website.

Thankfully this unit charges my Dell Inspiron and my Lenovo S10 netbook (which was surprising since the connector tip looks different, but it fits). Unfortunately, it doesn’t work properly with my friend’s Dell Latitude – the laptop states that it is plugged in, but there doesn’t seem to be enough juice to charge the battery.

The unit isn’t much smaller than the Dell chargers, and is actually more bulky than the one for the netbook. It also has moving parts to break and tips to lose. The cord unwind/wind mechanism isn’t very smooth and the cord has bunched up on rewind several times. One of the cords is also surprisingly thin. The overall construction is on the flimsy side and I really don’t expect it last very long.
