Okay, so I bought this battery thinking that it would be great to upgrade my Acer Aspire One 3-cell battery to a larger capacity one. Now I’m not a stupid person and I realized that it wasn’t going to fit exactly like the stock battery did. Little did I know that they’d make an active effort to ensure that this battery fits into your laptop in the most uncomfortable ways possible.
Just so you potential buyers know, i have an 8.9 inch Acer Aspire One, and this battery doesnt extend out, but down. What I mean by that is that this bulky 2lb 9cell snaps in and raises the back of your laptop 3inches off of your desk (i say desk and not lap because this battery makes it impossible for you to use this on your lap comfortably). Now this isnt bad for those of you who want to use your laptop on a desk only. However, if you bought any of the laptops that this is compatible with and you want to use it on your desk only, you’re stupid.
In short DO-NOT-BUY-THIS-BATTERY!!!! It takes your perfectly comfortable laptop (Acer Aspire One is the best purchase hat I ever made) and morphs it into an obnoxious plastic piece of junk with a tumoresque protrusion that makes it impossible to use comfortable ever again.

Battery works as advertised and last 2.5 times longer running time. It has taller profile compared to to my regular low capacity cell. But with the battery being taller, it tilts the keyboard up to a easy typing angle on a flat surface and makes easily to carry the netbook around. Can’t complaint much about it because of the size given the much longer hours getting.

I have an Aspire One with 3G, and now get about 8 hours on a charge with this battery. I feel like the arrangement of cells within the battery pack makes it much thicker than it needs to be- why go straight down (adding an inch of thickness) when it could have curved back underneath the bottom of the netbook? The weight isn’t really a problem, as the whole package of netbook + jumbo battery is still relatively light, but it’s prohibitively thick (to the point where I can’t fit it into the same briefcase I had been using).

I bought this battery because I wanted a long life battery. My aspire came with a small 3 cell battery that lasted only 2 or 2 1/2 hours. This one lasts a long time. I haven’t kept exact track of it, but plenty of juice to fly from the West coast to the East coast. I find that the bulk of the bigger battery is not a problem, it makes it easier to grip the netbook, it still fits in the case, and it gives the keyboard a little tilt. I have only had the battery for three months.
