I came to Afghanistan expecting to use my personal laptop for skyping. When that didn’t happen, I needed a headset with separate plugs for input and output and all I had were a set of headphones that came with my Google Nexus One. After looking at several expensive headsets I saw this splitter that would allow me to use my current gear with the computer equipment available to me for a fraction of the price. The adapter works great with crisp, clear sound both on the in and out, though I suspect this will vary based on what hardware you use along with it. It shipped and arrived promptly, so I am overall quite happy with the purchase.

Why are these so hard to find? I tried two off shady retailers that didn’t work before getting this one which worked perfectly.
I like my iPhone headset: very portable and the speaker / mic quality are good. Now I’m able to use it for my laptop and desktop as well. It’s actually pretty convenient to be able to unplug from your laptop and directly into your phone when the phone rings.

Just got delivery of this adapter and it works fine with my Blackberry Bold headset. I’ve been looking all over for this adapter so that I could carry just one headset to use with my BB and to make VOIP calls with my laptop. I was originally looking for an adapter with a usb connection but I had no luck and decided to order this one with separate mic and audio plugs.
