It is just what i needed. I can listen to music from my computer around the house. The speaker has a rechargable battery in it that you recharge with a usb cable (supplied). It sounds pretty good for a single speaker (not stereo) and the best thing is no wires! I gave it 4 stars because you have to move it around a little bit to connect up but no big deal. For the price and the quality you get, I would definitely recommend it!

I originally bought an internet radio for my wife so she could listen to stations she likes that have a weak signal in my area. It worked great for months, but then the radio network changed their streaming software and their stations became unavailable on the radio, thus rendering it useless.
After much research on the web I came across the mimi Wireless Speaker System and eventually decided to give it a try, even though I was reluctant to use a USB dongle.
I must say that is the perfect solution for my needs. It plays whatever my computer is playing whether it’s an internet stream or the content in iTunes. I can take it all over the house. I took it into the backyard while repairing my gas grill. I love it.
It’s not HiFi, but it’s great for talk radio. And it’s better and cheaper than an internet radio.
A couple of quibbles. First I had to purchase a USB to AC converter so I could charge it up away from the computer. Secondly I want to purchase an additional speaker without the USB dongle, since I already have one. Additional speakers are currently available only in the UK.

Initially I was looking for a speaker to place in my bathroom so that I could listen to songs from my computer while showering. The device works fine and transmits clear signal but can be a bit sensitive if you stand inbetween the speaker and the computer (in this instance there was about a 20 ft distance). I have two major gripes with this product: 1) the power button sticks so it may take about two or three attempts to turn on the unit for whatever reason the power button is one big button that is also connected to the volume up and down buttons so I assume this is just bad product design. 2) the speaker does not act in conjunction with what ever sound setup you have being outputed on your current computer. I am not sure if this is different on the Windows side, but on Mac OS X I was only able to output through my computer speakers or this mini wireless speaker, not both at the same time and this can be annoying when you have to change settings just to use this product. Otherwise the drivers that came with the product was great and the device was simple to plug in and begin using.

I got this speaker for my sister, who uses it on her newer laptop and loves it. The sound is good, there’s really no static or interference and it’s very convenient – just plug it into the USB and play. I tried to use it on my 3 year old desktop this morning. I would have had to switch around the settings for the speakers, which is kind of a hassle, and it completely threw off my wireless internet connection. I spent an hour trying to get it reconnected and ended up having to do a system restore for it to reset. So, the speaker would be 5 stars on my sister’s computer and a 1 on mine.

I like to listen to Aloha Joe on Internet Radio. I live in a busy household and am the “go to” guy for many things around the house. No longer am I chained to the computer with everyone saying when will that radio show be over because I need you now. I can listen to my favorite music and take it with me anywhere in the house and even outside in the yard too!!!. This is extemely well designed. It is amaller than a coffee mug, but still has good fidelity and great volume for its size. I have an audiophile stereo system and I find the sound quite acceptable. The small size makes it very portable. The battery life is more than needed and the recharge time is quick. The fact that you don’t have to deal with external batteries is a blessing.
Our house has electric radiant heat, seven cordless phones, WIFI with four computers, seven televisions, fluorescent lighting, and numerous other gadgets producing and working on many frequencies. I have tried other (less portable) wireless speakers in the past several times and they didn’t work and are gathering dust. While my computer guru told me these should work. I had my doubts. Except for an expected dead spot near my router wifi antenna, this works well in every room and levelof our large home and out in our yard. It works even though I have the transmitter in the computer in the farthest corner basement room.
The set up is easy. It works with Windows 7. I absolutely love it. I had been considering buying a portable internet radio, but this makes so much more sense since it is very simple to use and I can use it for my own music too.
It is rare these days that an older guy like me buys a gadget that he finds easy to use and that fully does the job it is intended to do. I love this thing. My wife likes it too. I like it so much I am considering buying a few and giving them away as presents.
