This a/c adapter/charger arrived extremely well packed, looked well made, but will not charge the battery in my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. In addition, when the laptop is plugged into the adapter, I’ve had start-up and shutdown problems. Am returning it to Amazon for a refund.

I got this charger to replace the one that died for my Dell Inspiron E1405. Cannot rate the performance yet as I just received it today, but so far it is perfect. Do not buy the $60 one from Dell when this one will do the job. Came earlier than estimated from the seller as well. Fingers crossed it lets my computer live for another year or so.

Actually purchased this for a friend for her laptop.
She was told by the gentleman at BestBuy that she couldn’t find one cheaper ANYWHERE then the one they where selling for $120. I told her to let me look around.
I found this charger and it works perfectly, no issues to date and no complaints, almost made her want to go back and show the BestBuy employee her receipt!

After reading many negative reviews of after-market laptop ac adapters, I was pleasantly surprised to find this one works just fine, at about half the price of a new one from Dell. I did learn, though, to make sure that the one you order specifies EXACTLY the same output, both volts and amps, as the one you are replacing. I think that a lot of the negative experiences of others are because some of the replacements have the correct voltage but different amp rating.

I bought this charger to replace my Dell charger for my 640M Inspiron laptop. It works fine to charge the battery but this Chinese aftermarket charger lacks the quality of the original. The cord is much shorter so I have to add an extension cord to reach the same outlets my OEM charger reached effortlessly before. The charger I got through Amazon.com is not like the one pictured on their site. It does not have a third prong in the plug, meaning it is not grounded. The 110V cord which plugs into the wall can easily be pulled from the charger body, this leaves the cable still attached to the wall outlet, an easy opportunity for a small toddler. Be careful with this charger around small children. In closing it does the job but I wish I had searched for the original replacement.
