Finding that a wireless router wouldn’t work for me, I decided to route to my basement computer with a direct line. Shortly after purchasing this very inexpensive cable, I read an online guide suggesting buyers spare no expense in procuring ethernet cable. Imagine how you will feel, the author suggests, after you expend considerable time and effort running lines, only to be rewarded with inferior, or failing performance.

Ok, I begin to worry a little. Afterall, I am no computer geek, nor am I very technically oriented. What do I know about ethernet cable? I just spent the least money imaginable for it, and what will I have to show for my wise frugality?..failing connections, longer downloads, and family bitchin that “here we go again, you trying to save a couple bucks on cheap, no name brands, knowing that it’ll end up costing us twice as much in the long run.” I could see it all coming.

Nevertheless, I reluctantly proceeded, installed the RiteAV-Cat5e and now its been about three months and the downstairs computer runs with absolute perfection. I’m happy (I saved money). The household is happy (not one bitchin complaint). So, don’t listen to purist geeks with yuppie wallets, or that old axiom about getting what you pay for. With RiteAV, it appears you get quite a lot for a whole lot less.

I purchased this cable several months ago and purposefully waited to review it.

When handling this cable you can feel that it is cheaply made, as expected for the price. That being said I use this cable to span about 70 feet of outdoor area to a detached room. The wire has been exposed to a recent Blizzard (around 4 feet of snow) and we’ve had some wind gust have reached 60 miles an hour. I have not had a single problem and it’s still working great.

I wouldn’t choose it for mission critical applications but I would certainly purchase it again for household use.

This piece of CAT-5 was inexpensive and it works fine as a network cable, there does not seem to be a loss of internet signal that is at all significant. However, when I tried to use it with a monitor signal through a MUXLAB 500010, there was significant signal loss. Guess I should have sprung for an STP rather than UTP cable.

This cable works very well, despite the low price point. A low price point for something usually more expensive is sometimes a deterrent, but do not let this item slip by you. Five stars for the item actually working; four stars for the build of the cable (it bends into shape easily).

Althought this product had received some questionable lack of quality attributes, I found it to be NEW and FLAWLESS. It worked perfectly, and it was purchased for an unbelievably great price.
