Everything is cheap plastic with this phone. You could make a sturdier phone from a PEZ dispenser. I’m an agile fingered pianist with a sensitive touch, but nevertheless all of my keys have split in half. Also, the sticker/emblem on back has popped off. All of this started just a few days after warranty (which is almost immediately).

Great features, great look, great price! I installed a 4gig card and all my music is bluetoothed to my home and car stereos. I only with for greater range in the house, but I think all bluetooth has this short range issue.

Purchased two Sony-Ericsson w580i’s for my wife and I, about 6 weeks ago.
Good: Small, nice colors available (we have one red and one green), plays FM radio as well as MP3 (when using headset – the headset wire is the FM antenna). Very good sound quality.
Bad: Requires Sony M2 storage card instead of SHDC (more $$). Keypad buttons are a little small. The jog dial is kind of flimsy.
So far I’m very happy with the purchase. The sound quality of the included wired headset is very good, and I can easily switch from music to phone calls. The sound quality of the music is great, and the controls are nicely laid out. I also like the SE PC Suite for synching phone to Windows PC (this is a free download from Sony).

I don’t have anything bad to say about this phone. The navigation is easy, the sound is great, the design is slick, the camera is great (for a cell phone), I love it. Ok, the ONLY negative I have to say about it is that I can’t change the colors of the font on my main screen without changing the theme. There are 2 loaded on the phone and I’m not going to download a theme just to have a black font. I’ll deal with it as is. But if that’s the only thing I have to complain about…

So far been pretty happy. Went with this one over the other colors since it looked the coolest (note that it may not necessarily indicate it, but some of them are more two-tone). The music feature is pretty neat, I don’t use it as a true Walkman but more as a backup to my ipod. Phone has been fine so far, no dropped calls. I bought this phone for the added features like the radio, the ability to add the 4MB chip (buy it online for like $20) so you have a music and phone player, and the pedometer/step counter. Overall, have been pretty happy.
Only down side is the proprietary power and headset, which is a major drag. While they include an adapter for you to attach a headset (note, NOT a microphone, but a walkman style headset, different size jack), who wants to have to carry that around. I was also a little dissappointed to have to carry around the headphone jack to serve as the radio antenna, but if that means less radio waves going into my head, I’m cool with that.
Overall, 4 stars, still a little too early to rate battery life. I also bought one of those accessory packs only for like $5 that provided a car charger and an extra regular charger and a phone protector. I’ll try and update this review once I’ve had this longer to comment on durability and other factors, but so far, so good.
