I rarely write reviews, but wanted to note my appreciation for this product. I have a Dell Vostro 1310 laptop and the speakers are incredibly inferior. I can hardly hear voicemail messages on the speakers and, as a result, am tied to my desktop speakers for any type of audio review on my laptop. After suffering through this for about 6 months I decided I would find an alternative. I liked the look of the Brookstone Soundbar Laptop Speaker and the price was great…especially given the quality of the product! The sound is great with enough room that I don’t even have it maxed it out for full volume. It was super easy to “install”. I took it out of the box, plugged in the USB port and it started right up. It sits on top of my screen and when I want to close down the laptop, I can either unplug it, or just fold the bar in and set it on my desk. It’s small and compact and I can easily fold it down, throw it in my laptop bag and take it on the go. The only drawback – and this is minimal – I can’t pull my laptop screen forward or it will drop off the top. It only took me once to figure this out and it’s not much to work around.

I have an HP widescreen laptop that is great for watching movies but does not have good speakers. These speakers produce great quality sound and conveniently plug into a USB port.

The speaker on my laptop was not loud enough to watch DVDs while riding my exercle. This speaker does the trick. I can clearly hear the video while I pedal away.
