The Incoming Storm – the Blackberry Storm 9500 is Set to Wow Us All

Confirmed this week is a mobile phone that a LOT of people have wanted to find out about. Featuring a touchscreen, it’s set to take Blackberry mobile phones to whole new heights of excellence. And it’s called the Blackberry Storm 9500…

Of Blackberries and iPhones

The history of Blackberry mobile phones goes back many years, to when the company RIM decided that what people wanted was access to emails on the move. but that wasn’t enough, RIM reasoned that people wanted emails on their mobile phones that arrived without them having to do anything (like clicking SEND/RECEIVE) extra. And you know what? They were proved right, when the first Blackberry mobile phones took off. There is no other mobile phone on the planet that does emails as well as the humble Blackberry, but in the past, most Blackberrys couldn’t be called pretty, really. Nowadays, though, that’s different, with mobile phones like the Pearl, the Curve and the Bold wowing us with their looks as well as their power. Still there was something missing, and that something was confirmed by the arrival of the iPhone: what Blackberry mobile phones needed now was a touchscreen.

The Blackberry Storm 9500 – a touch of genius

And so, RIM took it upon themselves to create a mobile phone with a touchscreen… and the result is, frankly, phenomenal. the Blackberry Storm 9500 is everything that we hoped it would be!

The big gimmick of the Blackberry Storm 9500 is not just the fact it has a huge touchscreen; it’s the fact that the Blackberry Storm 9500 has a huge touchscreen, that MOVES. The reason for that is actually very clever. You see, when you’re using normal mobile phones, they have tactile buttons that click when you press on them. Touchscreen mobile phones don’t… well, they don’t unless they’re the Blackberry Storm 9500, that is, because THAT right there is why its screen moves. It replicates the click of you pressing a physical key, so that when you type no the onscreen keyboard, for example, the Blackberry Storm 9500 actually makes it feel like you’re pressing a real, physical key.

Which is just mind-bogglingly clever, and completely unique amongst mobile phones!

That’s why I’m utterly convinced the Blackberry Storm 9500 is going to be a game-changer. It matches the uniquely fluid style of the iPhone, and gives it proper, useful functionality, instead of stupid pointless gimmicks. The email is superb, the 3 megapixel camera is superb, the media player is superb. Everything about the Blackberry Storm 9500 screams quality, and I’ll be honest, in the world of touchscreen mobile phones, it’s hard to think of a handset that can touch it!
